Default Found a OBD1 to OBD2 Cable. Will Torque Work?

Hi,

I have gotten spoiled using these cheap OBD2 Bluetooth dongles (ELM327, OBDLink LX) that connect to the Torque app on my phone on my different cars to monitor engine performance. Have any of you tried an adapter cable that plugs into the Toyota OBD1 port and has an OBD2 pirt on the other end? Theoretically, it might allow a dongle to be used, but I dont know enough about compatibility.

Interesting that the 1995 SC400 has the 1st generation 1UZFE engine with OBD1, whereas the 1995 LS400 has the 2nd generation 1UZFE with OBD2. I have used my OBDLink LX on my 1997 LS400, which is a super gauge pack.

Here is information on Torque app:. https://www.cnet.com/how-to/monitor-your-cars-performance-with-the-torque-app-for-android/

I have a 1995. Mine wouldn't do anything either. Kinda weird that in 1995, the LS400 had the series 2 1UZFE engine, with the weaker connecting rods, but more HP, but the same year SC400 still had the Series 1 engine, with OBD1, but stronger rods. I think the axle ration is different, too. I also have a 1997 LS400, and Torque works fine.

From what I have read the ls400 switched over to obd2 half way through 95 is the reason, it was the earliest to do so. The SC did not switch over till 96.
