Default Help!! 99 sc400 possible seized motor??

hello everyone. I am a new owner of a 99 sc400. I bought it from my cousin who has no idea about cars. The car has about 150k but it's been dead for 7 years. One winter day he started the car and it would not turn over. He said after a while it stopped cranking. So he took it to a small shop to change the starter and still
nothing. He then took it to Toyota and they told him his motor was seized because it was not able to turn the crank by hand. This is all I know from what he says. Is there a possibility something in the transmission broke and is not letting the crank turn? Please if
anyone can help that would be greatly appreciated!!!!

if you cant turn the crank with a wrench on it, it's seized. Tranny won't hold back the motor (assuming it's an auto)

agreed, in either case not good. if the car is a keeper I'd be looking for a motor swap and do forensics on the current engine. If the car is marginal, part it out.
