Well, from what i read from this forum and a couple others, the Auto tranny on the SC300 can take no more than 400-450hp... The most id do with nitrous would be a 100shot so maybe around 280hp, with turbo i can hit close to 400hp, and im sure an aftermarket Torque Converter and a tranny cooler will help the auto handle the power.

i have always heard around 350rwhp for the tranny as a limit, with turbo you will be spending a whole lot more to get the extra 50 hp. but I do like turbo more also. plus there is always the upgraded auto trannies, then we would be good to go.

What does it take to help the auto tranny to be able to handle around 400-450hp?

I was thinking a higher stall Torque Converter, but theres still the valve body, are there any valve body upgrades for the sc300?

its not the TC that goes, the clutches cant hold the power. check sound performance, powerhouse racing and phoenix hard parts, they all make upgraded transmissions.

Yea exactly what I was thinking, im sure a newere Torque converter and another transmission mod out there would beef it up enough to handle around 400 or so HP.

dude, the clutches don`t handle the power, there is not a cheap way to make a clutch grab more! you have to replace it, or run the tranny at the lower numbers. The torque convertor will actually put more strain on the system with the shock of the higher rpm launches.
