Default Automatic trans questions

I have a 97 sc400 with a bad transmission. I was wondering if anyone knew what years and models had a transmission that would interchange. I know the bell housing and TC are different from the 2j and the 1uz. Is there any other differences between them?

Thanks im advance.

Look at the LS400 also, they have the same trans as SC400. 98-00 SC400/LS400 has the 5 speed auto trans.

That’s what I was wondering. I know a handful of cars and trucks have the a340e but wasn’t sure how interchangeable they are

If I remember correctly the transmission in a SC400 is geared differently and beefed up slightly than the transmission in a LS400. SC400 transmissions should be pretty cheap and easy to find with everyone wanting to go manual now a days.
