One Last LSD question
1.5 way LSD and 2 way LSD... what's the difference?
what's the benefit of 1.5 over 2 way and vice versa?
if someone can explain as detailed as possible....
I'm trying to get a particular brand of LSD but it seems like they only make the 2 way for the SC400?
Also is the Supra LSD 1.5 way or 2 way?
thanks

I'm confused too...
open diff: will power only 1 wheel at almost all times. Some open diff's will give the appearance of being limited slip when power brake launching when good traction is avalable and when the car is pointed forward and not turning.
1 way limited slip: provides power to both wheels when the car is traveling straight and no other time. weakest linking of all LSD's
1.5way limited slip: provides power to both wheels when the car is traveling straight and turning. Moderate grip while engaged.
2 way limited slip: provides power to both wheels when the car is traveling straight, while turning, and while breaking. Fully engaged limited slip at all times.
that is the best I know how to describe them... to be more specific in my question is that 1.5way is known to be more forgiving during wet traction.... I don't want to just get a 2 way slip and end up regreting.
is TRD torsen LSD on supra TT's 2 way or 1.5way or 1 way?
