Default Gasket vs FIPG, and valve cover gasket question

Hey guys i found my transmission pan and oil pan leaking pretty badly in a week i lose about a quart of tranny oil and ive made a nice little splat on my spot at work. So ive decided while change the plugs to also lift the car and changes some gaskets. My question to you guys is for a tighter seal couldnt i just place the gasket and seal it with the toyota FIPG or do i have to choose one or the other. I already have the transmission gasket i would be ordering an oil pan gasket and hopefully not a whole pan lol. My second question is when replacing the valve cover gasket should i replace the small sections surrounding the spark plugs or just the gasket under the valve covers.
