Default Trying to do some basic modifications to my '93 SC300

I have a 1993 SC300, and there are some basic mod i want to do and I would appreciate some suggestions. I want to put an angle kit on it, an exhaust, and convert it to e85 (Flex fuel so i can run on 91 and e85), and lastly, i would like to swap in a manual transmission. I heard that the 5-speed out of a '98 tacoma will bot up to the 2JZ-GE, please correct me if i am wrong. But suggestions on what brands to go with for the other mods would be greatly appreciated.

While you could just buy many a W58 or Supra 6 speed, it really would be cheaper and better to just track down a factory 5 speed. I would imagine the pickup truck trans would require some fab work.

ill post my exhaust when I get home.

If you are planning flex fuel, do note that it will NOT be cheap. There's a lot of parts that go into a flex fuel system (lines, pumps, filters, injectors, sensors, standalone); I'd highly recommend reading up on the fuel and the benefits it can give you under certain conditions. Without having power adders like a turbo or nitrous there isnt a need for such a high octane on a 2j.

E85 is not worth the cost as mentioned above unless you're going for forced induction. As for a transmission, the truck transmission will not fit easily. Track down a W58 5-speed, or a 350z transmission w/adaptor kit as they are the cheapest and most common to install on your car.

Best bang for the buck (not including boosting the factory engine):
5-speed swap
Limited slip rear differential
Intake and exhaust for fun sounds

^^ Definitely a 5-speed swap, a true LSD, 95-2000 LS400 front brakes and suspension and a mild cat back exhaust are the best bang for the buck changes. And wheels and good summer performance tires with more width. 255-265mm in the rear is great for an NA 5-speed.

The W58 to track down is one from a 1992-1994 SC300, 1995-1997 SC300 or 1993-1997 MKIV Supra NA. Those variants are true bolt-in and plug in to the chassis. All W58's will bolt up to the 2JZ block but the earlier versions from MKIII and MKII Celica-Supras (and mid 80's Cressidas) are not only weaker for the heavy SC chassis and 2JZ-GE engine but they also don't have the right bellhousings and they don't use the same transmission mounts and crossmembers that SC's do.

The 350Z CD009 is also a good option.

You'll also need to locate a 1992-1994 SC300 5-speed M/T ECU. Way easier with your car's wiring if you have a 49-State Federal Emissions model.
