Question Code pulling problem

I pored water over the car looking for a leak around the windshield and water pored onto engine causing problems, this has happened before, I just dry out the spark plug wiring and all would be good. Not this time. While trying to find out what's been messed up over the last few days, my badly running car finally lite up the check engine engine light after a a quick lurch on the highway. I've never been glad to see a check engine light before, so when I got home to pull the code so I can get an idea of where the problem is, after jumping the pins (on both plugs) there is no blinking, the check engine light just stays steady. Has anyone ran into this problem?

You may have cracked a spark plug. I've done that accidentally after getting water into the spark plug area on a hot engine. That will cause the car to misfire pretty bad.

The CEL: make sure that you are jumping the correct pins TE1 to E1.

For anyone keeping score, the water somehow ruined the no.4 spark plug wire ??!? And the check engine light that wouldn't show any codes was due to the EFI relay stuck on ??!? Pulled it out and let it cool down and plugged it back in and all was fine. Check engine light went away.
