Default 1993 SC-400 FIRST Gen Door Remote

1993 SC-400 ( Note: 1st Gen SC-400's do NOT have transponder in key. They ONLY operate locks.)
My ONLY door remote is busted up but the electronics in the car WORK (key case cracked up and button & spring lost)
After a LOT of digging, I understand that first gen SC-400's requires transmitter & matching chip to be installed in module under the back seat because the remotes in 1st gen are NOT field re-programmable.
I believe P/N for one key-transmitter & matching chip in my vehicle is 89705-50400.
If I locate new key & MATCHING chip, is it a simple matter of unplugging OLD chip and inserting the NEW chip in the module under the back seat?
Is there anything else that MUST be "reprogrammed" that would require a Lexus tech to perform?
After the swap, I understand that the new remote would be the only functional remote since the key and chip are installed as "matching pairs".
Note:
(I'm aware that newer SC-400's are field reprogrammable because I also own a 1998 and have replaced & reprogrammed that remote. My question above is for 1st Gen 1993 ONLY.)
