Default eBay Turbo Kit...Any good?

Hello All,
I have a 1996 Lexus Sc300 (black on black) and am considering installing an eBay turbo kit. The car is at 197,091. I was wondering if this kit is good enough for the engine and if the engine can take it. I am not going to do anything crazy as LA traffic is a nightmare. I just want a little extra power, like around 300whp. here's the link:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/T4-Turbo-Ki...-/141001242117
Are there any other better alternate options? If I were to do this, would I need any other parts?
Thanks,
RDAK96

Looking at the kit it’s for a 2jzgte not for a 2jzge which is what you need( so that won’t bolt up to your 2jzge block.
I would piece it yourself separately buying parts, that way you don’t get what you won’t need.
If you had to ask that question, I would do a tons of research before even buying anything, and start saving for other items like intercooler, pipes needed sensors wiring etc. it’s not as a “bolt on” as you think!

Default What About This One?

I also found this kit which is specifically made for the 2JZ-GE: https://www.ebay.com/itm/CXRacing-To...S!-1:rk:1:pf:0

would this be a better option then sourcing out each part elsewhere?

Thanks,

Could I also do this myself? or would it involve a lot of cutting drilling... Not very experienced in this kind of stuff as you can tell. However, if there is any way that I could do this, Then I would definitely do it.

Thanks again!

You will have to cut and drill weather it’s a kit or not. You’ll have to drill your upper sump to return oil for the turbo back to oil pan. The intercooler pipes will have to be cut to make them fit.
If you have little more than basic tools you maybe able to make to happen, but if you’re limited on tools it’ll make your job harder.
how much hp are you looking to be around with your turbo adding?
if you’re keeping it at about 300 to the wheels you don’t need as big of a turbo or intercooler or 3” pipes, or bigger fuel system.
i would buy the manifold, turbo, waste gate, bov, intercooler pipes, down pipe, all separately, you’ll also need a turbo oil feed and return lines -4fees/10an on the return and to make your life easier get a is300 union bolt and tap in a fitting for oil feed to your turbo.
Then depending how big of the turbo you get, it may not fit or clear your intake pipe to throttle body. Then if you keeping your distributor, to do it right you’ll have to cut and reweld the new manifold you just bought to clock your turbo to the left to clear the distributor or some people use 4Runner dist. Cap to clear the turbo inlet. If you get it all bolted up and running, well your engine ecu may not respond well to boost.
its not cheap, I’m in the middle of a build, I’m prolly 3500$ in it but that’s with few extra parts like ffim, coil packs, alisc300 gte aristo ecu mod, with more sensors added to run 500hp.
check out my build thread, or build section of sc300/400 forum to give you a great idea what to do and look for in your turbo ventures!
ask quesions if you’re not sure, don’t buy stuff a less you did research or on budget I can understand
