Hi I just recently bought a black on black 5 speed manual Lexus Sc300 (95) completely stock



My plan is to turbo it on the stock block or a get head and was wondering what some of the NA-T people thought of it
As a student I'm on a budget and would like to build as much power for the best price I was thinking about getting this turbokit http://xs-power.com/lexus-turbo-kits-3.htm and an AEM ECU 650cc injectors and was wondering what else I would need and where a good place to get them is. I know this car is fairly rare and would not want to do anything to ruin it.

 

"Turbo on a budget" is usually a costly contradiction. Read up on how much these builds escalate in cost before diving in. I would personally drive and enjoy it as is, while saving up for bigger and badder performance down the road.

 

ive got the kit and its not bad for the price. Im making 426 hp and 436 torque on at 17psi. I changed the waste gate spring am running the TT ecu mod by Alisc3 and 440cc injectors. I've been running it for over 2 years and 15k miles. I replaced all the turbo oil lines with AN and braided cover lines of better quality. I also had to get more inter cooling piping to route it the way i wanted.

I'm currently experiencing boost surging issues over 17 psi. I was running 20psi but it would drop to 18 and it sounded like make wastegate noise but i have not been able to figure it out. I pressure tested the system to 30psi no leaks... so i'm thinking the turbo is just not able to keep producing the power consistently, i replaced the wastegate too with no change SOO i just set it to 17 and havn't had more issues with it BUT a new turbo and manifold and waste gate and BOV are what i'm going to do next because i want to make REAL power now.

Its fast 13s quarter mile at 5k feet but there is ALOT of turbo lag. full boost is about 4200 rpm in second and third, i did blow up my w58 and supra 3.76 torsen LSD launching and drifting the car at the track. I'm currently running a OS GIKEN rear end LSD and r154 for the transmission thus why i want to replace the turbo system.
