I have an Injen intake and even though it looks pretty, I didn't notice any gains. If you like under the hood pretty and shiny then do the Injen. If you're lookin for more HP try the BFI. Cost less and more HP. Either www.lextreme.com or www.planetsoarer.com will give you an Idea of what to do. Good luck

You could build your own box around the Injen filter. Sort of defeats the purpose of the BFI. The BFI gets alot of the HP increase from ram air effect of the air blowing straight in to the panel filter. Injen uses a conical filter. The air would have to go around the front of the filter. I don't think the combo idea is as effective as the BFI alone.

well my alteration is reallie just an air scoop from next to the passenger fog light.... i feel this is better cuz you at least get colder air rushing into the area that the intake sucks air from.... better than the hot air of the engine

So all in all are we saying that there is no point in spending $210 for an Injen?? I was just about to buy one but I am not so sure anymore.

I went through the Lextreme tutorial but it kind of just stops half way through?? What do u do from where it is left off???

Thx

Jonny

Don't know either. I'm waiting to see how this story turns out. I hope it's a happy ending.

Here is a pic of the Injen Intake. I had this installed in conjunction with the Borla exhaust so I cannot really answer if this "alone" improved performance. I can tell you without a doubt that the combination of Injen and Borla exhaust appreciably improved performance.

DX3, I got most of my parts from TM Engineering (Todd was great and provided me some excellent information - he's very knowledgeable) and I found his prices to be among the lowest. He cannot do the Borla and I got that from Proficient. Good luck.

Look at the data and graphs I linked. An aftermarket intake does not give you much gain if any. The engine bay runs extremely hot. Even with the heat shield, you will be pulling in a lot of hot air. If you must get an intake, at least duct some cold air in.

Please look at the numbers. Your butt is not the greatest of scientific instruments and louder does not mean faster. The $100 to $200 you'll be spending can be put to much more worthwhile mods such as a torque converter.
