SC300 Rear end swap
So how much power is the stock sc300 rear end rated for how much is the sc400 rear end rated for. I would like swap the 300s for the 400s bc of the lower gearing bc I plan on doing a CD009 6 speed tranny swap and the gearing in the CD009 would mean ****ty mpg and I wouldn't be able to go faster than like 120 or so. I would like to use the 400s rear end bc the gearing is 3.89 instead of the 4.27 in the auto 300. And also how hard would it be to swap would I need different axles and what not or would it just bolt right up and use the same axles as the 300. Or could I just upgrade/change the gears in the 300s rear end and get better axles

The 300 and 400 rear ends are the same, only the ratios are different. Since you're going with a six speed you might want to look at the Aristo tt rear ends with the lsd. I think the ratio is like 3.76 but the pinion flange is the larger one so you'd need to change the end of your driveshaft.

Now for the tt manual supra rear ends the ratio is 3.11 which I would be fine with I'm not sure if the automatics have a 3.76 or not. But do you know how hard it would be to swap the sc300 rear end for the aristo tt?

The manual tt Supra rear end won't fit without new axles, it's a 220mm ring gear instead of a 200mm gear. The 300, 400, auto tt Supra, and auto tt Aristo should be a drop in replacement with the exception of the large pinion flange on the Aristo unit. If you really want a tall gear the 98-00 SC400s came with a 3.26 rear end behind their 5spd auto transmission.

The 200mm rear ends in MKIV's, SC's, GS's, Aristos an Soarers are all pretty strong. The MKIV Supra 6-speed 220mm rear ends (which require an entire subframe swap at an overall very high cost) are even stronger but the 200mm diffs and axles are all very capable of high horsepower. You can't mix 200mm diff and axle parts with 220mm diff and axle parts.
There is a big thread on Supraforums detailing all the different rear end ratios available. The most common ratios available in the USA for 200mm diffs are 3.266:1, 3.769:1, 3.916:1, 4.083:1 and 4.272:1. Europe also got a 3.5-ish ratio I think but you are not going to find that in the U.S. unless someone went well out of their way to import it.
