Default manual swap help!

Hey guys, really driving myself nuts. Got my transmission in from an importer, problem is that it appears to be binding while I spin the input shaft by hand while it's in neutral. Is this normal? It will get almost fully locked, but if I got backwards a bit, it unbinds it and I can continue spinning it.

In neutral there should be no binding.

mine did the same thing when I first bought it. The input shaft wasn't in the right spot so it had it in 5th. Have you opened the transmission to see what its looking like?

This is understandable and definitely the right choice. Both workloads eat up all available time for sure and right now thats where your focus should be

If by "sending" the gearbox you mean shipping it (a W58?) to a rebuilder then that's probably a good idea since you encountered some binding. Unless it's a new gearbox it's impossible to know all that it has been through before you bought it. Hopefully it's nothing major to set right There's nothing wrong with waiting for a better time to pick up where you left off with your SC.
