6spd drive shaft question
Hey guys,
Well, after a succesful summer of running my motor swap on the W58 (stock 5spd) It's going down in a couple weeks, hibernation and I'm going to start my winter projects, 6spd install and possibly an SP71 with all the trimmings.

Anyways, I'm looking for some info on the 6spd swap drive shaft measurements.
Does anyone have the measurements of the lengthened 6spd tt drive shaft?
(Front section - companion flange to center support)
(Rear section - center support to 6spd diff )
Finally, the entire length of the lengthened drive shaft end to end. I'm also trying to determine if it's the rear section that needs to be lengthened.
*Keep in mind, this is only if your using the 6spd diff.
The other option would be the measurements (end to end) on a single piece, which is still an option.
If I can't get any of the numbers, I'll probably just send off the drive shaft to Lance, like Scott has, and let him do his thing. Scott, I'd like to hear about the final product.
Any help is appreciated guys.

Not any help, but is there anything you need to change(other than the driveshaft) in the rear when going with the 6spd diff, like axels? Also could you use the NA rear and just throw a limited slip in it or would the gears end up being to short?

You will only need to swap out the left (drives side) axle.
You could us the NA or even supra auto diff, however the geaing with the 6spd trans will be pretty short, I think Scott can attest to that shortness of the auto tt diff.

There is a small difference in that left axle shaft length see the below measurements. There is a difference in part numbers only for that left axle as well. The auto tt supra, na supra, and sc300 left axle all have the same part number and are interchangable, whereas the left 6spd axle has a completely different part number.
TWIN TURBO, 6SPD TWIN TURBO, AUTO & ALL NA's
RIGHT AXLE 598.50 mm 598.50 mm
LEFT AXLE 547.50 mm 553.50 mm
It wouldn't take any chances on driving it with that factory lexus shaft in there.

Tony,
I'm pretty sure it's the drivers side axle. Take a look at the pic you can see the left side extends out a bit more
Our right side axles are the same as NA supras, TT supra's etc.. so there is no need to replace unless you have any tears in either cv boots.

I haven't received any measurements for this, so I've decided to have a used 6spd tt drive shaft I purchased from Jim @ Turbo Toys in FL sent to Toyomoto in FL. According to Scott (motorheaddown), they already know the measurments and will fab the stock tt drive shaft to fit, for $350. It is either that or go with a one piece from Jarrett at Powerhouse. However, with the solid piece comes more vibration, so keep that in mind.
Just a note, I wouldn't trust just anyone to fabricate a stock tt drive shaft, leave this to someone with experience. I just hope Toyomoto calls me back today, so I can get them my drive shaft

bmsport, the 6spd LSD is definitely longer on the driver side, the axle is a different length, I wouldn't leave that as-is and just pray, I would do it right. Even new from Toyota the left axle is only a couple hundred bucks and change if I remember right, but you should be able to find one I think.
