Default Water Pump Help

Hey all,

I've been trying to do my water pump for awhile now and keep getting sent the wrong part.

I'm looking for a water pump for a 1994 SC300 ideally from Aisin or Gates Racing. I've been sent 2 different ones that I was told specifically were 11 bolt only to get them and see they are 10 bolt. I have everything else so ideally not looking for a kit but does anyone have a good link for either of these brands for an 11 bolt? I was not trying to go through Lexus, I believe they are like $220 from factory.

Thanks!

I think the Gates part number is 43271 for the 10 bolt, 42255 for the 11 bolt. I couldn't find the Aisin part numbers, but I did this research and posted it on here a few years ago and I think I had the Aisin numbers in that post. Maybe do a search and see if you can find it on here, when I get a few I will see if I can find it.

So I emailed Aisin and they reported that Lexus/Toyota and Aisin never made or used an 11 bolt water pump. Chances are I will get the Gates replacement but I dont believe that has the housing with it, it is just the pump. Either way, I appreciate the info!

Cheers!

I have no idea why they told you this, I have installed both the 10 bolt and 11 bolt on the SC300 depending on year (actually I don't think it is a year thing, it seems to be dependent on what plant the car was assembled at).

Doesn't the bolt count have to do with the 2nd crank sensor? Later years had a sensor at the bottom

The crank sensor mounting location was included on the oil pump not the water pump from 1996 onward.

All 1996+ 2JZ-GE SC300’s, GS300’s and Supra MKIV NA’s had it. Same for all 2JZ-GE VVT-i engines. Additionally the crank gear with trigger teeth was different for 96-97 Non-VVT-i and 98+ VVT-i. Also different for 2JZ-GTE’s.

I think you mean 97+ year models. The 96's didn't have the crank sensor.

And yes, the extra water pump bolt hole is just another bolt to hold the pump to the housing.

Pretty sure if you buy the full assembly (Front & back housings together) you will not have to deal w/ this stuff. Yes it is a lot more money for the assembly, but your time has to be worth something.

True, or you could just count the bolts and order the correct water pump.
