Default SC400 Chip - Gas Mileage, Power

Hi folks, I see a bunch of places online sell "performance chips" for the 1993 SC400 like this: https://performancechipsusa.com/coll...BoCsUQQAvD_BwE

Are any of these legit? I'd love to see better gas mileage (I don't really care about power gain). Are there really chips out there this cheap that actually work or are these just a scam?

I doubt it would do anything. There used to be a few chips like these back in the day and they never did anything. They seemed like a total scam to me.

Avoid these. They alter the signals that factory sensors see. So while they give "results" they are not safe nor reliable over the long term. I also don't like how that site won't tell you how it installs until AFTER you buy it, and you are supposed to email them first before purchasing to confirm it if will even work on your car.

There are other things you can do if you are trying to increase MPG or power. If you tell us about your car right now, we can point you in the right direction if you like

Thanks folks - I figured as much. I just bought this 93 SC400 - it's all stock as far as I can tell. Getting about 15.6MPG currently. What else would be useful to know? Aside from the air filter, I haven't done anything to the mechanics of the car yet.

15 seems low. While these aren't gas misers, I've been seeing 19-21 on my 400. If you really want better mileage, maybe a Prius?
