Cheap turbo kit for SC300???
I was browsing supraforums and came across this site. www.nonturbo.com
They are selling a turbo kit for the nonturbo Supra. I was curious if anyone here knew what modifications would be needed to be done to get a turbo kit to fit onto our SC300's? Here is an excerpt from the site:
NonTurbo is now offering a turbo kit for customers who are wanting to choose the turbo route. This kit is half the price of the infamous turbonetics/f-max kit and is capable of double the performance.Automatics should expect around 300-320rwhp 7psi on stock compression! The 5 speeds will expect around 320-340rwhp 7psi on stock compression. If you add a headgasket to lower compression with 20psi expect 450rwhp! If you just want to add some horsepower to your n/a this is the perfect kit. If you want to build a 600hp monster this is the perfect kit for you also.
This is what you will receive with this kit.
T04E Compressor on turbo with GN Turbine Side with .63 ar.,
38mm Tial wastegate vented to the atmosphere,
Wastegate dumppipe,
3" downpipe,
Cast-Steel manifold
**The automatics will receive a TE44 turbo and 5spd PT52** This is not mandatory, it's just recommended if you are running the stock auto transmission.
**Available for 93-96 and 97-98 please specify when purchasing**
Expect around 6-8 weeks for delivery.
$2,000.00

not as much you think
he also said $2k is the filler price, when the website is fully running it will be less than that...
all you need other than this kit is fuel control, injectors, fuel pump, and FMIC (or an IC of some kind)
i would suggest: VPC/AFC, 550 injectors, walbro, and a FMIC
you'll still come out under $4k for this kit and have the fuel/turbo to make 500rwhp with a headgasket swap or who knows without the hg swap
there are still other misc things like the exhaust, clutch, boost gauge, etc... but thats the real expensive stuff

I will be getting E-manage with supprt tool and injector harness tomorow; however, I will be installing it on 2JZ-GTE.
VPC is set to 680 cc injectors and costs about 600 bucks! E-manage with injector harness (you can set your injectors) will run you below 400 bucks and can control ignition and much more than VPC/FC can.
