Default Did SC 400 manual Swap & Speedo is not working

Hello, I recently got a manual swap done on my 97' Sc400. Everything is working fine except the speedometer. I was told that I have to pull something off the ABS system (Square Wave?) and have it ran to the cluster in order to fix it. Does anyone have any specifics or can confirm that for me? The trans used is a 370z transmission if that's needed at all.

Welcome to the Clublexus forum and nice swap! With the CD009 6-speed transmission that you are using there is no speed sensor directly on the trans and that is where the SC300/400 gets its speedometer signal from (on its three-wire connector). With that transmission you'll either need to use a GPS based speed signal generator, a hall effect sensor and trigger wheel anywhere between the transmission output and rear differential, or from one of the ABS sensors at the front of the car.

I'm not familiar with how people pull that ABS sensor signal but I'd create a patch cable to pull it from. It would be even easier if we had the connector part numbers on the ABS sensor and body harness section that goes into it.

I believe the ABS sensor method will work because the odometer actually has a dual circuit path that gets its speed signal with which to count miles driven with both the factory transmission speed sensor AND from one of the front ABS speed sensors. This was done by the Toyota electrical engineers to have some sort of failsafe redundancy for the odometer since it is extremely unlikely that one or both front ABS speed sensors and the VSS on the factory transmission would all fail at the same time if ever a failure were to occur.

Edit: See attached TSRM schematic for the 1992-1994 SC300/400. That section of the electrical diagram *should* in all likelihood be the same on your 1997 model.
