Default Just bought a 1994 Lexus sc400

The car has 170,000 miles
it has a super slow take off and When I step on the pedal all the way it only goes to 3000 rpm and on the free way only at 65 mph or around there
it takes up soo much gas
it’s straight pipe no Catalytic Converter
when the engine is on there’s no engine light but when you drive it it pops on PLEASE HELP ME what do I need

You have a lot of research and reading to do on these cars. I have an SC300 so for an SC400 the engine issues are different.

First thing I’d do would be to pull the ECU and send it out to be rebuilt/repaired/tested. Figure 1-2 week downtime for this. Check out SIA Engineering for this service.

If you are a DIY capable person then you have a nice project car to keep you busy. If not, do NOT go anywhere near a dealership but research a reputable independent mechanic with experience on SC4s to assess your needs.
