1999 SC400 Low Idle and P0505
Hello,
I have a 1999 SC400 that started having a low idle last night. I checked with a scanner and I have code P0505 for idle control issues. I did some research into it and most people recommend cleaning the throttle body and IAC valve. However, I need someone to clarify if the VVT-i 1UZ's have an IACV. I saw on the forums someone said the 1UZ with VVT-i does not have an IACV, but I also some some websites selling IACV's for the 98+ engines.
As recommended, I will try cleaning the throttle body first. I do think it is just idle as when I depress the throttle the engine revs with no issue and while driving there are also no issues: normal acceleration, no backfire, no stalls. Turning on the AC kept the RPMs a bit higher.
