SC400 transmission shift problems
I have 95 SC400 and the engine appears to be really strong like usual. The problem is how the auto tranny acts, it seems to have a high affinity to be in a higher gear then what it's supposed to be in. At crawling speeds like in heavy traffic the car will still shift me up through the gears and when the power is actually needed you'll hit the gass and have the car slam through 3 gears into first. It really only downshifts to 2nd or 1st if you are around 15mph or lower sometimes itll stick to 4th or OD. Another time where it's off is if I am breaking for a right turn and don't make a complete stop I'll hit the gas to turn and then it will slam down gears and I'll go. Any other times it downshifts from me hitting the gass it downshifts pretty smooth. Also while I'm driving through my neighborhood at around 25mph I can turn off the OD and have it downshift. I'm not sure if that's normal behavior but being in OD at 25mph seems a little wrong too me.
I've heard it could be the ECU but I don't want to tear it out of my car if I can't confirm it would be a fix to the problem.
