Have you considered a valved exhaust? They are pricey but offers the best of both worlds. Even if no one makes one, you can fab one up using valved e-cutouts and custom piping.

I actually have no idea what valve exhausts are. When you say best of both worlds are you talking about performance and sound?

Mostly sound; it's quiet with the valves closed and sounds like a muffler delete with the valves open. Here is an example for the older IS.
