GS400 Superchargers what have you done to upgrade over 8lbs of boost
I was wondering for those of you lucky owners of GS400s with Superchargers and smaller pulleys that are creating over 8lbs of boost.
I am thinking of increasing the power (because there is never enough) and was wondering what you have done, what was added besides the smaller pulley, any experiences that you could offer, or advice that you can give? I have the RMM S/C w/310 injectors and an SAFC.
Thanks in advance

For starters you will most likely have to go with larger injectors...I ahve the 370's and they seem to be giving me plety of feul to upgrade above 8 lbs. The real question is how much boost can the stock internals take before going pooooffff? We all want to know that question, its all in who's going to be the frist one to find out so the rest of us can learn from their mistakes!!

Pearl,
Dont read to much into what RMM says your going to get as afar as boost numbers...they have been way off for both myself and some other members that I have spoken with. Its a good kit, and worth the cash..but the numbers they quote are wrong.
I skipped the original pulley and went to a size smaller right off the bat. Here is what RMM said the pulleys will put out as far as boost, heres what mine actually did.
Original pulley 5lbs. ........................I skipped this one(thank god), so I have no idea what it does
One step smaller 8lbs. ..................Mine put out 5 lbs of boost
another step smaller 10 to 12lbs. ................mine peaks out at 8 lbs., its at 8 right at redline (3.12 pulley)
I am thinking about trying to stretch it out to 10 lbs., but I am skeptical at the moment...Im not sure if I am ready to be that guinea pig yet!

Thanks for the headsup. I am getting their, "7lb" pulley to start out with to get things going. I was told that since the supercharger is putting out so little boost compared to it's potential, a BOV is not needed. I would have to disagree with that and will add one anyway-cheap insurance. Any suggestions on a decent BOV?

I have had the Greddy Type S, TurboXS and the HKS super sequential. They were all on turbo cars. I personally like the Greddy Type S which is what i will be installing on my S/C. If you go with any of the top name brands i do not think that you will have a problem. It will just come down to the sound preference.

The turobXS i had was really loud. So loud that many times it would make people jump on the side of the road. It was this one TurboXS Type H RFL Blow Off Valve. It has this horn shape. This BOV is very large compared to the others. So if you are looking for loud that is my suggestion. A draw back on that BOV is that to adjust it you have to unscrew the top (which is spring loaded) and drop in washers as opposed to the Greddy that you just turn an screw on the top of the BOV. The TurboXS is a bit cheapier than the Greddy or HKS

I have the HKS and it's plenty loud for me.
Pearl, do go with a BOV. I was told the same thing, but when you came out of the gas abruptly...it sounded like you had a BOV already but it was the back pressure slapping the back of the charger. That can't be good for it, I don't care what the manufacturer says. They also told me that they didn't include one in the kit because they had problems with the car cutting off because of the BOV. Well, I put mine in and I'm running just fine thank you.
TT knows what my deal is the boost numbers. He and I have spoken extensively on the phone comparing notes. I'll tell you guys this much....We are all the guinea pigs that are going to have to figure it out by ourselves. Noone has been able to tell me a definitive correct answer yet. TT knows what all I've tried. Honestly, I'm tired of spending a ton of cash at the dyno tuning only to find out that the 8-10 lb pulley only puts out 6. I'll have to keep trying myself because other people are seeing more boost levels than I with the same exact setup. Who knows.

gsHunter: Yes, I have the exact same pulley TT has; the 3.12". The difference is that I'm only seeing 6lbs of boost vs TT's 8lbs of boost. Where the difference comes in??? I don't know. I still have the 310's because my system was running really rich vs TT's which was the opposite. Reason??? Don't know that either.
I'd be more than happy to share any info that would help you in anyway. Just ask.
