Default Is350 swap into 250

Hey I currently working on swapping a 350 engine, transmission into a 250 I own a 2011 350 in silver with black F-sport interior I sadly hydroplaned on a back road a few months ago and crashed and bent the frame on the car lucky no real damage mechanically wise apart from radiator, condenser and my upper oil pan that holds the filter.......well long story short I had been going back a forth for a few months on what to do then one day i saw a post on marketplace for 2008 is250 with a blown engine and transmission for 1,100 i was sold on doing the 350 swap i mean i have a whole donor 350 sitting in my driveway why not ? I didnt want to get a new car or just trade i liked my old 350 and it was prefect and 350s in my area go for stupid prices for something with 180,xxx plus miles. Im making this thread to see if anyone has more info on getting the swap done i have read other thread but they dont really answer the big questions lots of gaps between like........

How do you get the VDIM issue resolved?

Do the 350 and 250 run the same central wiring harness algo the chassis?

Can you just do a simple computer swap and run the same harness?

Mainly the things that really get you hung up on swap if anyone knows more it would really make this swap a more common and more accessible....

You are in a position to pull this off successfully if you have your entire 350 there as a donor. My suggestion is this. Make an account on Toyota's TIS site and download the schematics for both cars. The engine harness is definitely different as are the ECM ECU's.

What you need to do is compare PN's for the stuff that is not obvious and select the "where used" option to see if the same parts interchange or need replaced. Then you refer to the schematics to verify the connector pinout is acceptable.

Look in the build thread section for Jeff Lang's IS-250 to IS-350 manual swap. It will offer insight on what you'll be doing.

Oh and sorry about your F-Sport 350... that sucks!
PS - as for the rear of the car, unbolt the whole subframe and chuck it in there. You'll want some good measurements form both before you unbolt them.
