if u want an intake..get the srt hfi if u aren't going to do much else... other wise... get any intake and add a s-afc.

That brand and company is even more shady than the weapon thing. The SRT and PLP systems are more reputable. Take a look at those instead.

the weapon-R intake can be as good as any other intake with the afc-controller

the srt is a open element intake vanerable to heat-soak, doesn't need afc tuning
plp/lextasy would need afc-r tuning to make more power.

aem/injen need afc tuning to make any worthwhile power, weapon-R in the same boat

but the weapon-R comes with a nice box to block out hot ait from engine (similar to RMM)

i think the weapon-R is worth a shot if you also get a AFC controller

weapon-R has a bad rep for making horrible products in the past, but the build quality is good on this box...i've seen one in person at a show

You've seen one in person, but that doesn't mean they're built well. I've had a friend who had one on his IS. Needless to say, he took it off and sold it right away. That company and it's products has had alot of bad publicity in the Lexus and Toyota forums from all over.

sorry to mislead everyone......

the nice thing about the weapon-R intake is it has a closed box to prevent heat soak.....(rmm, plp, lextasy)

i personally would get a plp, but think it's rather pricey....only reason i haven't gotten intake

i would stick with a closed element filter.....

open element filters show power on the dyno because the car hasn't been running for x hours.....

lextasy is a knock off of plp with a blitz disposable filter

plp is expensive for a metal pipe and a foam filter element(does work)

and i've heard people having problems with rmm with rust....?

area51 used to have a really nice intake
