I don't think that's a good idea because my understanding is the ring gear ratio on the GS300 is even higher than the Supra diff.

I totally agree with you.

Just for the record, your top speed WILL be limited to about 135mph as you will hit the speed limiter. I've verified this several times.

Can't remember the rpm, but it was well below redline, I'll guess somewhere around 3700 rpm.

Another note. I think Bit is right that the 3.76 puts the car in the sweet spot of the engines power curve. I raced Redgs4 at the strip several times. He has similar mods, except his LSD has stock gearing. One run he pulled a holeshot on me by a car length and I continued to reel him in and pass him all the way through the finish. After we reviewed the run, we summized that my gear ratio was the key factor in our performance differential. Also on average, I was a tenth or two quicker in the 1/4 mile out of about 10 runs.

Question

Would I get significant straight line acceleration if I get a 3.76 LSD but not a TC? I read so many GS430 owners with PI TC have the engine light come on. I don't really want to mess with the transmission just yet as it is still under warranty. I think the LSD is less evasive then the TC. With my driving I rarely loose traction but would like to get better 0-60 improvement. Most of my driving is in city traffic.

i am concerned with messing with the tranny also. but i know i will probably do the TC at some point in time though.

with the 3.76 LSD you will get a noticable increase in straight line acceleration.

you will also get better acceleration out of a corner.

get the 3.76 LSD you'll love it

WOW! That really IS "well below redline"!

What kind of times did you run in the 1/4? Trap speed?

I'm tempted to pick up a 3.76 LSD just to get those 2 tenths back from you!
There's gotta be a way to fool that speed limiter...
