99 gs400, check engine light came on the other day and to day my car will not go into manual mode,the m just flashes,checked trany fluid it was fine after 30 miniutes of driving,changed fluid about 15000 miles ago. shifting is kinda harsh not lexus like.anyone have any ideas on what it could be.car has 90,000 miles

sounds like the electronic soloneiod went bad , alittle black box mounted near to the tranny pan , i heard it went bad on a few other cars right around 100k miles

any idea how much the part will cost and can it be replaced in my garage or will it have to go to the dealer. thanks

there is no little black box near trany pan.any idea any one.
