Those w/ the L-tuned exhaust, are you happy w/ the sound and did you notice any performance gains.
How much louder over stock was the noise, and was there any drone at certain rpm's?
I'm still trying to decide between L-tuned, Borla or something else. Thanks.

Thanks silverbullet - the HKS do look good w/ your L-sportline r/bumper cutouts. But since I have the stock bumper, I'm looking for an oval tip w/ a rolled edge. Are the HKS much louder than stock though?
I see you have Bridgestone S03's, how happy are you w/ them? And how is the road noise? When my RE070's wear out in a few months, I am almost certain to get S03's. Thanks.

JYGS430, Yes, the HKS is a lot louder than the OEM. It has a deeper tone when idling and sounds sweet under WOT. I am very happy with the HKS exhaust. If you like the oval look I suggest you check out the Borla exhaust. Regarding the S03 tires, they do get loud when they start to wear out like any other performance tire on the market especially in 20". I only have about 8K on mine and dont have any noise yet. Nonetheless I am very impressed with the performance/ traction of the tire especially on wet roads as well as dry surfaces. The only other tire I may consider is the new Michelin PS2 when these wear out.

as neo has mentioned , i too have the hks hiper, i must say it was because of alsilverbullet car that immed convinced me to switch from the rod millen.. when he used to come by my home , i would wait for him outside just to hear the pleasant but menancing rumble that his car made coming down the street..it was music to my ears , then i loved the 5in tips , the mellon launchers make a statement from behind that you mean business
i would not even consider another brand , thanks again al

EV ftw!!!
Hey Alsilverbullet and Lexforlife,
I have a couple of questions about your exhaust.
1. Is it a cat-back exhaust or just the mufflers?
2. How much was it?
3. Where can I get it from? Steve does not have it listed on the l-tuned site.
I am tired of my "lame" sounding L-tuned.......

Hameed- the HKS setup is just mufflers not cat-back. The sound is menacing, very aggressive but not obtrusive. I originally had those but decided to go to a true cat-back and got the Greddy Evo2 which I was even more pleased with. I had Greddy on my old SC300 as well, and it's just something about Greddy that sounds so distinct and bad*** IMO. Hope this helps...ps- check out www.nopionline.com b/c the greddy evo2 was on sale for our car for the longest time, they also carry the HKS Hipers.

How much was the HKS Hyper when you bought it? I should hit up Steve and find out about the GB.
