Default High RPM shift

In the morning, I notice that my car shift gears at higher RPM's than the afternoon. 1st to 2nd is high but not totally abnormal for a cold engine. 2nd to 3rd on the other hand, shifts at 2650 RPM. It feels really awkward. Anyone else experience this? What could be wrong?

This has been discussed many times and it's normal. To warm the engine/tranny up more quickly the car initially shifts 2nd to 3rd at a higher rpm level.

You're welcome. Sorry for the terse response - I've been flat on my back with muscle spasms the past couple of days! I'm up now fortunately...
