Spark Plug Change for GS300
#121
Got the wires and the plugs, but if I have the denso wire set without the connectors can I use the ones off the old wires. The connectors that I'm talking about are the one that have the letters on them.

Good question sir. Mine were replaced by the previous owner who warned me about the old brittle connectors that are still on there. You might have to get them separately. I believe DriftMotion carries them for a reasonable price.

I just bought the denso wires from rockauto but they didn't come with the clips that snap into the connectors, can I remove them the clips from the old wires? Any help is appreciated, I currently have my car torn apart in the garage because I'm doing the timing belt. I wanted to do the plugs while the valve covers are off.

Actually, I was incorrect the connectors do come with the wires. The snap on to the coil packs. You should be good to go.

Paying respects, not sure how many times i read through this but finally got done with the sparks and valve cover gaskets. no problems except all the oil i had to clean up lol. oh definitely glad I read that the clips break because I tried to be careful and broke all of them but had replacements already

I have always been a fan of doing what the manufacturer suggest when it comes to plugs. I used Denso twin ground, I think it was DENSP50745. But, it could also be other things as well like the connectors (to the coil packs) and/or the plug wires. If your car was like mine, the connectors were extremely brittle. In addition to the connector breaking up, the wires can pull out of the connector some exposing bare wire that can short out. I would start with those first: OEM plugs, plug connectors and plug wires. You can get the connectors on eBay for about $15 for 3 and a set of wires for about $30.
