Default help with gs400 performance?

hey,
thanks for humoring me a while.

i had a customer come to me and ask for some performance mods on his 98 gs400. i've never done a lexus before, and since i love new things, i decided to do it.

i've found one blower kit from rmm, but is that it? is there a good source for forged internals on the engine? i'd like to drop the compression and up the boost a bit. ultimately, he's looking for 400-450 rwhp.

thanks again for any help.
p.s.. i may not be very experienced with lexus', but if anyone's got a busted rx7, i'm the guy to see

Try SRT for some performance mods. I had their SC kit, and now have their twin turbo kit for the GS.

thanks.
i checked their site, and found the supercharger, but no engine internals. i've been talking with the owner and we've decided to bolt the blower on the stock motor for now.

in the meantime, i'll build him an engine that can handle the extra abuse... i'd like to find forged crank, rods, and pistons. in addition, i'd like to lower the compression to facilitate the extra boost.

have you looked into the usual suspects like JE or Crowley or Eagle?

I am in the process of getting my 400 blown right now. upgraded engine was one of my first questions. My guys tell me that there really isnt a source for forged pistons and the like for the 400. He did say you could get custom stuff done but it was price prohibitive. these guys do lexus upgrades all day long, so I tend to belevie them when they tell me there isnt a source for upgraded internals.

You will get these items custom made. JE is a good source for pistons.

duhhhhh..... i should have thought of that. i was looking for lexus stuff--rather than manufacturer specific.. i'll try it the other way around.

on a good note, the bridge ported rotary engine i did last week got its first track experience today.
it was tearing up just about everything on the straightaway at willow springs.. (black fc [87 rx7] if anyone was there) once the front mount intercooler gets manipulated into position, we're gonna take it from 8psi up to about 16 and take a trip to the dyno. we should hopefully get 430-450 to the back tires. not bad for a 2700 lb car

I have forged, and lowered compression pistons. Parts were ordered to SRT specs by SRT, so there are forged pistons available for the GS4.

Are the forged pistons and connecting rods custom or are they off the shelf ie mass production? I know SRT does a lot of custom stuff thats why I was askinig.
