Air Filter from K&N

FIPK = Fuel Injection Performance Kits

Minimal gain at the higher end and potential loss at the lower. But sounds great and really cleans up the engine bay.

Exactly! K&N site shows a dyno chart with a 10 HP gain on the high end.

lv2000- Deciding between an S/C and a K&N FIPK? Apples and oranges to say the least...
The SRT intake with ECU mod is supposed to give a bit more power than the K&N.
Here's a pic of the K&N installed on my car:

didnt GURU post saying that if you put an intake other than the SRT/ECU you MUST add a SAFC??.. or else the car will be running lean?..

actually, with the FIPK, I believe you don't have to (I added one anyways) but the FIPK's diameter of piping isn't as agressive as lets say SRTs hence the SAFC isn't needed, but recommended!

I agree, my car shows absolutely NO indications of running lean. In fact it runs excellent under all conditions and pulls like crazy at higher RPM! A bit more intake noise than I would like, but at WOT it sounds awesome! I may also consider a SAFC at some point though...

I have FIPK. On dyno/O2 tests it never ran lean - in fact it runs rich from 4000rpms up (even stock does apparently) so the shop used my SAFC-II to back off the fuel a bit from 4000rpms up.

K&N states that the air filter could give you an " Increases Power (up to a 26 HP gain) " This is claim is extreme and hardly true for ANY air filter. You'll be lucky if you get 5 hp.

For those of you that have it and DYNOed...did you get notable increase in HP?

Until you get rid of the stock air flow meter (AFM), adding the FIPK neither significantly alter the air/fuel ratio nor the add significant HP gains. Once you start modifying the fuel system, e.g., bigger injectors, modified AFMs, then the AFC would be a handly tool.

Default FIPK for the GS430

I know at one point there was no FIPK for the GS430, but then it seems that people were saying it exists. Looking at K&N's site, I only see a normal air filter:

http://www.knfilterchargers.com/sear...x?Prod=33-2220

Does anyone know for sure if the FIPK is available for the GS430 and, if so, what the part # is?
