Default Thinking of selling the Turbo GS

For reasons on out my control, I have to acquire another car. I think I'm going to have to sell/trade my GS300. So sad since I've put a lot of time and effort in it. I just had the motor rebuilt like 3K miles ago too with the upgraded internals. I don't know if I should pull the turbo setup off of it and return it to stock or sell it as is. I would probably prefere to leave it and sell the whole thing as that will be a lot easier. Another hard part is trying to figure out how much I want to sell it for. Any inputs/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Here's what I have it in right now:

Turbonetics T04E
Apexi Intercooler
Apexi SAFC
Apexi BOV
Apexi Turbo Timer
Turbonetics Wastegate
Supra TT pistons/rods/gasket
Autometer Boost Gauge

I'm going to miss her.

usually it's easier to put the car back to stock, sell it that way, and sell your parts separate

damn, if i had the funds, i would be makin a 1000 mile trip each way to florida to put this on... sorry to hear about your misfortunes. im sure you would NOT have rebuilt the engine 3k miles ago if you knew that you had to sell it. TOTAL bummer man good luck w/the next ride tho.

unless you find a buyer who knows the value of the turbo, its going to be hard to get your money back... the only problem is that its tough for people to come up w/the appropriate funds right away... like i said before, good luck.

yup, in a sense it's hard to find someone who does not have the GS and just straight out want one with the turbo in already

The only problem with putting the car back to stock is that I don't have a lot of the necessary parts. The stock manifold had to be used to make the turbo manifold. I have no idea where my cats are the rest of the piping is. I'm also missing parts of the stock airbox. I think it would be a real hassel to try to put it back. Now if someone had a stock car, maybe some sort of trade could be worked out. Then I would have a stock car that I could sell a lot easier.

so then require this as part of the deal... ask for $X + engine... it will work... if most people are like me, they wont want an "extra" engine just layin around

Default Smog

Cannonbear: Before you jump right in, think about how tight the smog rules are in Cali. DAMN C.A.R.B.

check with broke_gs to see if it will pass smog or if they even have smog where he lives.

If it clears smog for Cali then you might have comp. for the car

Sorry, I've been away for the weekend. I doubt the thing will pass any smog certs, considering that I don't have any cats on it. They don't check for anything here in FL. Hell I could drive around with no exhaust and would be ok. I've also been thinking a lot about the car situation. I think if I could find someone with a 1999+ GS400, I'd probably try to do a trade straight up. I'll probably come up with something in the next couple of days and post in the classifieds here on CL.
