Smile SUPERCHARGED GS400 DYNO w/video

Went to SP engineering today for my first dyno since install.
Conditions were not the best but time restraints forced to make the appointment
Weather was HOT. Plus it was very hot in the testing facility.
The belt on the supercharger appears to be slipping in the upper RPM's. However since
I was not allowed to check the dyno numbers until after all 3 runs were completed, I did
not have the opportunity to tighten it.

I did not have the time to clean the air filter either as it is a bit dirty from the previous belt getting shredded (too long). The air filter removal process is not pretty on this setup.

None the less, I maxed out at 331 rwhp. So around 414hp at the crank. The A/F read out indicates the car is running lean at lower rpms which I already figured. Notice how the HP levels off at higher RPMs? It should keep climbing. There is certainly some more HP waiting under there.

I will get with SRT for a update on the ECU, tighten the belt, clean the filter, and dyno in the morning next month once everything is back in.

Video is 20megs long. Right click on link below and SAVE to your drive. Make sure you turn up the volume.

DAYAM... that's quite some power, not the best, i am sure you can get more power out of it, but not bad at all!!! i expect you can get something close to 360 to 370 at the wheels like dave?

Thank you Romini. My cable internet went from 4700 kbps to 40 kbps so I could not add nice effects or extend the video any further.
I am a bit dismayed that I did not have a chance to tighten up the belt, but oh well, the GS was happy to be on the dyno anyhow. I will be better prepared next time.

well on the bright side, lee, when you are done with the list of tuneup you haev in mind now, it would be neat to see how much improve we need next month when you go there again. that would be more interesting to know imho

Lee that's a great video, thanks for putting it together! The dog shots at the end are awesome, lol.

Do you have the source files from your dyno? I'd love to look at them in more detail (rather than pausing) and see what the belt slipping looks like.

Do you know if SRT sent you the ECU data for Jeff's tune or mine?

End result still is pretty darn good!

Pearlpower,

Didn't you install all this yourself?

Yes, I did the install myself.

Dave, no source file. They said they did not have a way of saving the information to disk. SRT setup my ecu to Jeffs setup. I'm going to email over a pic of the jpg to get some feeddback.
thanks for the compliments,
Lee

Here is the dyno sheet.
Notice the drop off at higher RPM's. It should continue to climb. I had a feeling the belt was slipping before getting there as the car would not pull as hard as before in the top end. I figured I would be able to see the graph to prove this after the first run. Not!

Compare my results with jmecbr900's dyno. Notice his hp which corresponds nicely to his rpm's.
You can see where mine leveled off. I am also finding belt residue around the s/c area. Tightened it up last night and it pulls much nicer now.

I also see a huge dip in your air/fuel ratio between 5200 and 5400 rpm. You could be running too rich, which might cause your car to be losing power from that rpm onward....

If SP engineering can email you the files I can put 'em in runviewer and overlay all of ours together to compare.

Don't forget - if they can't do disk, take a USB memory stick & just plug it in / save it there.

Runviewer is free to download from dynojet. Very handy
