not been used?! how does he explain the rust and also the dust on the top then?! if it's a new unit i would expect it to be cleaner? just curious. the one from FutureGS400 was a lot cleaner imho

and i am also curious, how are you sure it's a rear end with lsd in it? part number on the rear end or what? i guess my question is i am not sure if all differential from supra looks the same

ok now the only thing is to see how you can prove it's a diff with lsd then? only a certain yrs of supra auto rear end has the 3.76 with lsd. i believe it's 94-95?

First, thanks to Adrenaline Motorsports in Canada, the source of my '95 1/2 Supra TT rear. Turns out the unit is in excellent condition, just as advertised. Thanks Phil!

Other posts have suggested that the real cost is about a wash, I would tend to agree. It would seem to be more a choice of whether you want the TRD with the clutch pack and standard gearing or the Supra/RMM torsen type with 3.76 gearing. Main difference is that you can find the RMM rear used much easier (Supra Auto version that is). I got mine for $600 plus shipping.
*******************************************************************************************************************
Supra TT 3.76 Auto : year 93.5-96 has LSD from factory
Supra TT 3.76 Auto : year 97+ has NO LSD from factory, not even optional, (I know that now) I have the 97 diff.

I've summarized all of the MKIV Supra differential specs and applications below:

Open 4.272 Ratio (11 teeth pinion, 47 teeth ring): Standard differential for 93-96 normally aspirated automatic and manual transmission Supras.

Worm-gear Torsen-type LSD, 4.272 Ratio: Optional differential for 93-96 normally aspirated automatic and manual transmission Supras.

Worm-gear Torsen-type LSD, 3.769 Ratio (13 teeth pinion, 49 teeth ring): Standard differential for 93-96 TT automatic transmission Supras.

Worm-gear Torsen-type LSD, 3.133 Ratio (15 teeth pinion, 47 teeth ring): Standard differential for 93-98 TT manual transmission Supras.

Open 3.769 Ratio: Standard differential for 97-98 TT automatic transmission Supras.

Helical-gear Torsen-type LSD, 3.769 Ratio: Optional differential for 97-98 automatic transmission Supras.

Open 4.083 Ratio (12 teeth pinion, 49 teeth ring):: Standard differential for 97-98 normally aspirated manual and automatic transmission Supras.

Helical-gear Torsen-type LSD, 4.083 Ratio:: Optional differential for 97-98 normally aspriated manual and automatic transmission Supras.

Worm-gear Torsen-type LSD, 3.769 Ratio (13 teeth pinion, 49 teeth ring): Standard differential for 93-96 TT automatic transmission Supras.

think the 3.769 ratio will offer optimal performance for the GS4. It is debatable whether or not the worm gear type of 93-96 is "better" than the helical gear type of 97-98. I would take either at this point if I found the right deal.

These differentials are not that plentiful in the "used" market right now. Expect to pay $400-$600 used and $1500 new. Furthermore, I've found most sellers are not wiling to remove the differential cover to confirm LSD and ratio and send pictures. If they are unwilling, this means they probably have something to hide. As you can see from the specs / application list, there is a wide variety of diffs available for the MKiV Supra so it would be easy to receive a diff other than what you paid for. Buyer beware

I bought mine for 450.00. 3.76 with LSD. I would pass on this one for that price and search the Supra forums where I found mine. I placed a WTB ad and received 5 responses.

The one I got from TTurboPimp (3.76 gear with LSD) looks exactly like the one you posted above. (Not that that info helps you .........)

not sure about thatt. coz' both wheel half shafts have no traction. i believe they both go the same direction if they have traction?

i am 100% sure about this, with a non lsd, if you turn the shaft, the half shafts go in opposite directions.
