Thumbs down Hesitation and downshift delay when going to wide open throttle

Hello all,

I have a 98 GS400 with 64K. I have had the car for 10K and have a bad hesitation when I am cruising and floor it – WOT. It only happens when I am at part or mid throttle going to full throttle. From a dead stop to WOT is fine. The hesitation only occurs when I am already in motion. The car idles fine with the A/C and lights off or on. I cleaned the throttle body about a month ago which seems to have exacerbated the problem as now the car kind of downshifts too late? It is weird feeling.

I have read many post regarding hesitation and downshift delays and was wondering if anyone has come up with a way to adjust the TPS using a multimeter? If so, what wires and resistance value should I adjust it to. The TPS, from my readings of other’s experience, seems to be the most logical place for me to start troubleshooting.

Thanks..

Neil
