Default GS 400 Trans Slipping

Car has 57000 miles, trans fluid flushed and changed (not just changed) every 20,000 with Lexus fluid bought from the dealer. No mods to car. just driven daily. Feels like it has a big stall converter in it b/c it slips just a little bit as I am pulling out of the driveway or at low speeds in 1st gear (under 1500-1700 rpm) then it grabs and it is fine. WTF?!? Any insight

I had a similar problem about 7 months ago. All of a sudden, my battery started to go (car started but was very slow to turn over) At the same time, I notice the trans slip just as you described. I took it in the the dealer and
as it turns out, they replaced the battery under warrenty. As for the tran slipping, they told me that a weak
battery can effect the transmission electronics. At first I thought the dealer is handing me a line of b/s but
they were right. No slippage since the battery was replaced.
Good luck ...hope its something simple like the battery.

Hey - thanks for the reply and the info.

I recently had battery trouble. I have an aftermarket stereo system (3200 watts rms) so I routinely get a new battery once a year to be safe. But this battery is fresh, fully charged and no dead cells. Anyone else have any thoughts? Maybe a batch of bad trans fluid? What gives.

My thought is if the damn trans is going, it's getting rebuilt - heavy duty with new TC. Who can do this in NJ?

there's a product called

Lucas Transmission Fix

stops slip, hesitation and rough shifting in worn transmissions and completely eliminates most seal leaks. Its polymetric film renews worn bands to stop slipping. It will extend fluid life up to three times longer. Results are usually immediate.

This product is an excellent preventative maintenance product to stop initial wear in newer transmissions. It is a must for motor homes, towing vehicles, and all other hard working transmissions. Use also in light duty manual transmissions to increase shifting ease and transmission life. Compatible with all transmissions and transmission fluids. Will not void new car warranties. Contains no harmful solvents.
Key Benefits:

* Contains no solvents
* Lowers operating temperatures and stops foaming
* Can be added to existing fluid without draining any out
* Effective in an extremely high percentage of cases

Comes in a 24 oz. bottle.
