GS 400 forced induction problems
undefinedundefined[COLOR=Navy]undefined[/COLOR
Have just modified GS 400 with supercharger kit from Rod Millen.upgraded wheels (19 x 8.5 fr
19x 10 r SSR) Brembo 14" fr Apex exaust, TRD sway bar(fr & r) Strut towers (fr & r) apex AFC,
valve body, torque convert., limited slip diff., tranny cooler) hve been experiencing problems wit erratic and at times major hsitation mostly on downshift from automatic mode... cruising at 2,500rpm...5th gear..65-70mph..then mash accelerator to the floor and nothing happens.. all power cuts off completely, yet engine does not stall.. once let up must accelerate more easily.
I assume this is computer issue. My tuner is baffled. People at Millen are baffled. Anyone recommend a New York area tuner with strong diagnostic equipment/ and Lexus computer
experience. Anyone else have this problem?
ps. car works fine going from standstill and mash to floor. Shifts are all fine, acceleration excellent on the upshift. should'nt be injectors or AFC, or plugs etc.

Bobby,
Welcome to ClubLexus! I've got a GS very similarly modified to yours (RMM SC, brembos, 19" wheels, etc)
I'm moving your post to the correct forum - you put it in the classifieds.
I'd recommend you take a 2 hour drive down the road to Maryland and take your car to SRT. They've installed and tuned (at least) two RMM superchargers including mine. http://www.swiftracing.com/
Questions:
1) Are you using any sort of engine / air/fuel management?
2) Does the power cut out at or near redline?

Dave is 100% correct, it would be well worth the drive. I had my GS tuned by three different shops it he MD area before SRT hooked it up, I gained roughly 30rwhp and the car ran perfect after that tuning session. By the way, it had the RMM SC kit on it as well.......Dave is real familiar with it.

Oh yeah Johnny, you're right. I was mentally thinking about the drive I used to do from DC to Philly
