Are there any disadvantages to using this stuff, especially when our tranmissions are finiky with the type of fluid it uses? I would like to try it, but I'm afraid to because it might mess up my tranny and cost me a lot of money to repair. I read the post in the other thread by BigMoNYC and he said it worked really well on his car, but like I said, I'm still skeptical about putting additives into my tranny.

none yet ive driven about 450 miles I'd say
and still so smooth
on the bottle it says "Will not void new car warranties"
it is a perfect preventative maintenance product

The additives that I recall for atf are the ones that are essentially a harsh solvent that attacks the clutch packs and alters the shift, usually making it firmer, for awhile anyways.
Sounds like this may be a different technology, do you know what it is, or how it works with our transmissions to create the effects that you are reporting?
Are the gains far greater than the risks?

I dont remember where i read this from but i've heard that the Lucas Additives are good until air bubbles start to form. Somebody did a test before.
I'll see if i can find the test & i'll post it.

Yeah, I was just curious since usually a performance-oriented auto will be set up to shift firmer since soft shifts allow for much more heat on the clutches, like slipping a clutch under hard excelleration in a manual shifted car.
If it allows the fluid to dissapate heat better, then it's a good thing, but in my experiences, that usually makes for a firmer shift, not softer.
I'll see if their website says anything about what the stuff is supposed to do in there.
