New member Intro - with ebay turbo GS300

Welcome to Club Lexus and welcome to the GS boosted family. Your setup looks great. Did you get the info on that turbo setup when you bought the car. i.e. what company built it, what are safe boost levels, does it have a head gasket to lower compression, fuel management, etc...
I would not be running 12 psi until I knew what company built that setup and what engine mods were done to protect the motor. Since you are a previous IS300 turbo guy, you know what I'm talking about...
Good luck with the car man...

i know if it hadn't been for that dam groundhog, we'd be in tee-shirts outside polishing and modifying our cars :-(
thanks for the welcomes!!
good advice about the compression / vs. boost. the shifting is so messed up right now that i've been really babying her so far. I have an appointment to be one of first customers in Peter Farrell's new location's "grand opening". PFS did 98% of the work to my last lexus. Hopefully the dyno will be up so I can see what kind of power she's putting down.
then I have to find a place to put this!:

This Gs belong to one of our members, I remember when Sound Performance->
came on here and posted the horse power numbers. If I remember correctly the car didn't have upgraded rods or pistons thats why they didn't push the car above 450rwhp. But I think the torque # was in the 600rwhp range. Anyway congrats on your new boosted GS and enjoy. By the way I surf the is300.net your car is one of the reason why I want to buy a PFS stage2 for my GS. I am also waiting for peter new shop to open up.

so i found some random ebay auction that was cheap enough, so i won. i'd been wanting a bigger sedan (to complete the 4wd,sedan,race car filled garage). i picked up the GS from some tiny dealership in Iowa and drove it home 1000 miles to Northern VA! Made for a 'fun' weekend. the dealership was totally clueless about the car- salesman that sold it on ebay wasn't even aware the turbo was aftermarket. but the price was right for me. it looks like sound performance performed the install. the components are good, workmanship is great. throwing some codes though (probably transmission related)
good: decent acceleration -- currently set to 12psi. pulls harder than stock 350Z, GTO, compareable to 10psi IS300. car is soooo quiet. the cabin is tight. car is 7 years old with <14,000 miles on it.!
bad: ugly color, auto tranny needs upgrading. i gotta figure out what codes are causing intermittent check engine. no nakamichi or ML option.. so the whole factory system has to go (my aluminum waveguides and PG cyclone will have a new home). brakes are really crappy.
after a couple of tirerack, PFS, stoptech, powertraincontrolsolutions purchases, it'll be alright
I need advice makin' it look, handle and stop better.

beautiful 98 GS300 now boasting 402 RWHP, 536 FT lbs TQ at only 18.5 psi on pump gas
Was owned by member etnarp, may be worthwhile to search on the car's history,
