[QUOTE=DaveGS4]Oh yeah, the power of search. Looked for Sound Performance Turbo and found the last owner!

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=106509

beautiful 98 GS300 now boasting 402 RWHP, 536 FT lbs TQ at only 18.5 psi on pump gas

Was owned by member etnarp, may be worthwhile to search on the car's history,[/QUOTE

funny I did search and I sent etnarp a PM. It would be a cool coicidence if I sent a PM to the previous owner about his own former car. (I mean former own car- it's still a car....)

The transmission is so screwed, i don't think i can drive it until i open it up. seems to be more than the ubiquitous 2-3 shift issue.

this thread (thanks for finding it!):

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=106509

this thread tells the story. this car received FI last january and she was at 11k miles. the title is my hand and was owned by Rod (entrap of this forum) until 12/04 -- ~11months after sound performance installed the turbo. the mileage at the time it was sold to dealer was 13,598 - the dealership put about 25 miles on it... posted it on ebay. I put a low ball bid on it and it met reserve. rod must've given the car away. i hope there's not an accompaning tragic story!

the list of mods includes a valve body upgrade to the tranny, that is bad news for me, because it is shifting as if it has had no such upgrade... so we'll see.

Default You got your self a hell of a deal. I remember asking S/P how much to->

duplicate this turbo kit and I was told about 15 thousand. I am glad that you are on board and now since Peter has done work for you previously on your IS he might show some interest for the GS300.
Regards, Jose

Straight from Larry himself:

"It is hard to put a price on a system like this. This particular kit was built with the best WG, blow off valve, ball bearing turbo, tranny upgrade, custom gauge panel, powder coating, large custom intercooler etc. The total cost on this installation parts and labor was over $18,000. I am sure a basic kit with installation can be had for closer to $10,000"

Dude, you basically bought a turbo kit and got the car for free....oh wait, is it the other way around!?!??!

In any case, ironing out all the lil kinks will be so worth it once this beast is up on the road. If your transmission is all screwed up, why not go all out and try to shoehorn the supra 6sp trans. into your car!!!!!!!!!!

I don't have the fund'age for a V160 right now. Sprag, race forward clutch pack will be all I can shell out now in that direction.

Peter Farrell found a race sprag summer of '03 that fits int hese tranny's that will handle up to 800ftlbs. I called and they carry them in stock...

Peter Farrell's shop shold be showing an interest in the GS forums as well. their IS300 solutions are logically carry-over'able.

PFS employee, Ray is opening the new PFS shop location in Fredeick MD next week. I told him to come on here and advertise. But I think he's got his hands full.
