Yes sometimes I do experience it but thats only because its very cold like the temp is in the below freezing point < -10 degrees range otherwise it seems to be fine . . .

I do have an extra sqeak on cold mornings, but I have found it is not the belt.

Mine is the top idler pulley.

I have replaced the top idler pulley, but the noise has not gone away.

Only adding lubrication makes it stop and then only temporarily.

I had that for a while. I tried lubing the belt but it would only go away for a short time. When I had my 60k mile maintenance done I believe they changed the belt and it went away.

I use to have the squeak, but then I changed my best to the Goodyear Gatorback belts that has grooves in the belt so that it'll bend easier (less noise). Never had a problem with belt squeaking since. But i do have some other squeak that I can't seem to locate.

Mine used to squeak as well. Since replacing the belt, the problem hasn't come back. (it was old)

Mine squealed for a little while after I took apart my motor to change out the head gasket. I think I accidentally dripped a few drops of oil on the belt. It went away shortly though.

Hey GSteg,

It's about time for me to change my serpintine belt - Where do I get a Goodyear Gatorback belt? And do you have a part number too?

Also, do you just use the OEM timing belt or is there a better one? Let us all know! Thanks,

Scott

LOL.. the days I used to type in all caps. Anyway, I have a new drivebelt made by Continental Rubber Co. in my trunk if you are interested. I will take pics of it, and post in the classifieds this weekend.

Thanks for the offer dashocker - but I think I want to go with the GY Gatorback this time. I just did a search and found it at Summitt Racing.
