Default Greddy T78 33D vs Holset HX40 which is better?

The engine was stock automatic 2jz-gte and I plan to buy either Greddy T78 33D vs Holset HX40. But not so sure which one is the better turbo for what i want. I want engine with high torque at low rpm for street use and don't want to change cam and injector.

Who have any good turbo recommend.?

Holset HX40 is bit on the big side, but it shouldn't be too bad, I have absolutely no idea the flow of the 2jz, I guess the best is try to get some stats and look up the flow map for each turbo and see what suits you the best. A friend of mine ran HX35 on a 2.3L 8v 4cyl engine and put down about 360lb ft @ the wheels at around 3600rpm.

IIRC HX40 comes off on newer Cummins diesel.

How much is Apexi turbo ? HKS twin 2830 is way expensive.

I can get good condition used greddy T78 for $900 and brand new Holset HX40 for the same price.

What kind of power are you looking at? Pt67 will be a good street turbo, 600whp on pump gas.

About 400rwhp will be good, I think that is the maximum auto tran can handle.

I post this in supra forum and some have said that T78 power band is not for car with auto.
