Default Exhaust For 99 GS 400

Just got my Lexus a few days ago so bare with me.... Well, instead of replacing the whole exhaust I just want to do mufflers with some nice chrome tips.... I'm going to check L-tunedparts.com to see what they have...

I don't want anything that sounds rice!!!! I want something that sounds good when you give it gas and driving on the freeway etc.... I don't want alot of interior noise in the car when driving..... Just something thats basically not to loud but a little deep. ( bad explaination) Thanks again tmf

1. you have a v8, nothing will sound rice. i dont even think gutted cats will sound ricey.
2. Mufflers tend to drone more than a full exhaust, at least in my experience. my friend with only mufflers has a drone in his car that mine didnt have until i started cutting things out. but if you still want to go mufflers i believe HKS and Blitz are mufflers only.

you may want to try carson tuned or borla i think is also pretty conservative.

no drone is a constant humming sound when youre cruising. for some people its really annoying so its up to you.

set up a meet with some of the local florida members. a number of them have exhausts. i dont know what you consider to be too loud so its best for you to hear for yourself.

Thanks guys.... Do they make a Web site for exhaust that you can listen to....for the GS.

Also, Can i put the exhaust on myself or does the car need to be on a lift?

Hi TMF, if you try the advanced search you can get an immediate response to your questions, no waiting!

Best thread for you is the exhaust competition

That's a big thread, so here is a direct link (for you chose the v8)

Here are some others to consider while you're shopping (searched for 'exhaust sound clip' in the GS forum).
