Ok I have my intake and ECU installed. I modified it a little bit for heat reasons as well. I might do some further modding to it but for now I'm ok as it is not summer weather yet here.
Quality:
The quality of this kit out of 10 I would say a 6.5. The silicone coupler to the throttle body is not the exact size. The instructions were not right for the ECU, screwing up this part could be catastrophic this is mostly why I rated lower.
Install:
The install difficulty I would rate it a 3 out of 10. It was easy, but I can understand that some people are not as good at wiring compared to others. Install takes around 1-2 hours give or take. With my guide here it should take out a lot of the guess work with the instructions which should decrease the time it takes to install.
This is the correct ECU install wiring for 01 GS430;
The positions are right in the install instructions but the colors are not accurate in the install instructions.
The RIGHT Colors;
12v = Black/red
RPM = Light green
Sensor 1 = Black/Yellow
Ground = Brown
Sensor 2 = Yellow/black wire
I did keep the black sensor valve, and just tie wrapped it to the harness.
Results.
When a car weighs 3700lbs the butt dyno does not really interpret mods as well so I cant really say it's X faster, it's not like its adding 100whp or anything. I also am running 94 that contains 10% ethanol. But the sound is kick ***. Like everyone says, you can make it sound civil, drop the hammer and it gets "nice" loud. I do feel a throttle response increase at mid and high RPMs. I have not noticed any less torque at lower RPM's at all, something some people have complained about.
I do trust this though. With headers and exhaust completely redone, ie: cat back plus all new piping from headers to cat back, free flow cat that replaces the 3 cats. I do expect that the SRT intake will play a major role in the quest for NA power then. But with the exhaust side so bottled up at stock levels the gains are funneled unfortunately IMO.
I will dyno soon though on a mustang dyno.

quick question- I have the injen intake which did not come with the heat shield- does the shield make that big of a difference? has anyone tried to fab one on their own, or can you just buy the shield separate?
