Like alsilverbullet, I too, just joined the Torsen 3.76 LSD club! Man sounds like some kind of drug I'm really pleased with the results, the car now responds much better and shifts seem to happen when they really need to. What a gas............now I want the PI TC, just don't want the CEL

Congrats Teelex. I am glad you finally got it installed. I am sure you are loving it. The LSD is a blast! My only regret as like Rheiy said is, "I wish I would have done this sooner". I cant wait to add the PI TC with the LSD.

I have a few questions on this TC/LSD setup.

1) What are the approximate 0 - 60 times?

2) What are the approximate 0 - 100 times?

3) What is the highway cruising RPM?

4) How much more gas? In other words what is the gas to thrill ratio?

5) Why does the CEL come on?

3) crusing at 80mph, around 3k rpm instead of 2800

4) i don't see it being much worse unless you really gun it

5) it comes on mostly for gs430 from what i see. that's coz' the 430 has more sensors on the tranny and it checks on the stall speed

Answer to #3,4 & 5 already

#1 Depends on conditions of course and available traction-which is dependent on factors as well. I have consistently run 5.3 range without any special preparations as measured on my Escort G-Timer. Not even torque braking, just step and GO (with moderate wheelspin).
I think under ideal conditions on a good track you could get close to 5 flat which is pretty amazing for a 3,700 lb. luxury sedan with "only" 300 HP.! I really want to get to my local track to see, but time constraints do not permit (for now).

#2. Zero to 100 I have not measured, but would expect high 13s-again under ideal conditions (i.e. weather, driver skill, traction etc.) This would probably be pretty close to your 1/4 times and speed as well with our cars and these mods. Only one way to find out for sure though....

Thanks for the info guys! Definately on the list of near future mods. I'm just concerned about the CEL. Is it on all the time or just intermitently?

No problem with the CEL relative to the Torsen 3.76 LSD. Only referring to the PI TC with the GS430. It appears that a few early GS430's have successfully installed the PI TC with no CEL. GS400 has no CEL with either.

if the cel is on, it's always. and for the record, you only get it (if any) with the tc, NOT the rear end

One more dumb question. What is the benefit of the upgrade in TC?

Besides being a very heavy duty piece, the main advantage is the higher stall speed (2,800 rpm for the GS4 unless you are FI). Basically, it matches the torque characteristics of the engine better for performance driving-main benefit is on launching the vehicle, but it also helps during downshifts and "spirited" driving!
Each of these two mods are very effective by themselves, but really work together as if made for each other IMO.

Default Get the TC if you have a 400

Believe me, it's woth it. And I got the LSD installed first, then the TC.

Forget about numbers. This is a fun to drive mod. My TransAm is much faster to 60 and in the quarter. I drove it exclusively this week, and yesterday I picked up the GS from the stealership and my first reaction was WOA! It felt quicker thatn the TA by a margin. I don't know why, but it does. You'll be grinning ear to ear every time you step on it!

BTW, forget about the TA. I've been lucky enough to drive a 2004 911 Turbo, 99 Viper, 2002 Ferrari Modena, 2003 BMW M3 (my friends/family own these except for the Viper, which was at the Skip Barber school on a track), and the GS feels fast! Not necessarily faster than the cars listed, but it feels quick and, more importantly fun, in a straight line. Each of the other cars has its own character, but I find I enjoy driving my LSD/TC GS400 as much or more than any of them!

The more I read about the TC experiences I have become even more anxious to get one. It looks like I might be getting one sooner than I thought thanks to my CL cohorts.
