i have an offer to buy a supra from a friend
(i already posted this in the supraforums to get as much feedback as possuble)
first off, I can only afford one 'nice' car at a time.
I have a friend that wants me to buy his 500-700rwhp supra (pump gas@18psi/race gas@>20psi).
as some of you know, I currently drive a GS300 turbo (470rwhp/610rwtq).
My current GS is a 1998 with ~18k miles. It's cherry with a sound perfomance turbo and PFS upgraded auto tranny (you can see pics of it on sound-performance's website). It's practical and reliable, and new looking.
My 'potential supra' has had a color change . 55kmiles on chassis, engine will be rebuilt for me, interior/ext probably a 7 out of 10...
I'm a single parent with an 11 year old kid. I don't really need a sedan. I have a cherokee beater car for the snow and buying lumber and stuff.
Who would keep the GSturbo, and who would buy the supra....?
-also where's a good place to sell a car like my gs300turbo? I bought it on ebay with a broken tranny for a good price. i've had all parts that were in need of attention fixed.
((if I could just afford a GS300T + supra, i'd be fine, maybe solution is a second job!))

However much I love my GS, i'd go Supra all the way. Some day, that car will be worth TONS of money. I see it as one of the only cars from the past 2 decades that will ever be worth something in the future...plus it's my favorite car ever produced (for under 100k). My vote is for the Supra....good luck either way...hope you can get both.

Supra is a hot car and so is the GS
both are sick setups
but for me id stick with the turbo GS
just because of the sleeper/wow factor
can you post a pic of this supra

You have a Luxury Sedan that puts out 475rwhp... That should be enough to want to keep it. To have that luxury feeling yet & spank other cars in a race is a beautiful thing. The supra is very nice sports car however you get the plastic interior and the creaks and rattles. IMO, you would be stepping down if you bought the supra.

i love the supra but i have to say i would stick with the turbogs.
a supra putting out 400+ hp is going to be extremely loud.
you say ur a single parent, i suppose ur in the dating scene or will eventually get back into it correct? i dont know about you but i wouldnt like to roll around on a date with a car thats going to be really loud. plus the GS is sooo much more comfortable everytime i ride in my friends supras its like wow its fast but dang buumppy
yes the supra is a classic design and it retained its value really well.. but i would give it another 5yrs before the price of that car is so cheap even a slight desire for the car will be in grasping notion. thats why im going to wait a couple of more years before i purchase one myself.

IMHO i'd keep the GS Turbo...i've always loved the SupraTT and i still want one but being financially responsible always plays a factor. Plus, you're Turbo GS is already like scoring a date with Lexus and Jenna Jameson ...you get the luxury of a Lexus and the performance of a Supra TT...why would you downgrade anyway? If I had to choose between the 2 cars i definitely wouldn't give up the Lex....its just a whole different ballgame.
