Carl, would you post picures of the firewall please? i really would like to see how much banging is needed to fit the JDM engine... man, been thinking bout this project for the longest time and always wondered why shops like Toysport would hate concerning the JDM aristo swap... THANX for the info and the time to post all of this!!!

Are you the AEM engineer that used to own a black 5 speed SC300?

By the way EPIK, why did you gu a custom twin? Why not stay stock twin, or go single? Aren't the larger twin still going to take as long to spool as a big single?

I chose to go with the twins b/c of the look, a showcase of my fab skills (shop showpiece.. rolling business card) and they were cheap. i had one of the k26s on my nissan s13 with sr20det a few years ago and i was happy with the power band it gave me. i was in full boost at under 3000rpm . it should only be slightly more than that on this engine, and that is with stock cams. once i upgrade to some HKS 272s.. and dial it all in it should be right where i need it to be.

Good enough reason to me. That is the exact same reason why I do some of the crazy things I do. Can't wait till you get this complete.

Good luck with the igniter.

i have a few more details to take care of. one thing i'm in desperate need of is new clips for the coil pack plugs. half of mine are broken. i was looking at a camry v6 in the junkyard the other day and it looks like they have the same clips.. anyone know for sure?

the next hurdle i need to clear is the driveshaft. the gte tranny and the ge tranny have a different tailshaft rotor. anyone can tell me (Monster.. CarlC) what is the size of that nut on the tailshaft? I need to buy a deep well socket to remove it and switch with my ge one to fit the driveshaft up.

i finished porting the exhaust manifold tonight, put the oil feed fittings in the turbos, and welded the last wastegate flange onto the manifold. getting very close. i'll be working on it a good bit tomorrow, so if anyone can post up about that tailshaft nut, i'll drop by sears and pick up that socket tomorrow.

thanks!

It is probably a 30MM. I had to change the tailshaft on my drag truck, but I needed to cut the centering pin off. Toyota mostly uses 30MM on driveshaft flanges.
