Default GS3 Guys with Header & Y Pip

Any 1998-2000 GS3 GUys with Header and Y Pipe? What are you using?

The OBX/Turboeast Y pipes are too short for the 1998-2000 GS300. But will fit the 01+ perfectly

Before I get the obx/turboeast Y pipe extended, what other alternatives are out there that will fit?

That's a great question. I didn't know they even made headers for a 1998-2000 GS300. I would like to try to get my hands on a set. Do you know where I can purchase one? Hopefully not on ebay. Don't trust too many items that come up on ebay!

well, some auctions on ebay said Y pipe will only fit 01+ GS.

When LMS installed my header, the Y pipe didnt fit my car (1999)

I think i'll just do custom Y pipe.

I have the OBX headers and yes the y-pipe is too short. This is because the header is for the IS 300 but fits the GS. I'm using the stock y-pipe, it bolts right up to it. I was trying to sell the OBX Y-pipe to some IS or 01 GS guys.

Default Y-pipe fitment

Lexism do you think you received the same performance mods with using the stock y-pipe? I'm thinking about doing the same mod to my 99 gs300. Was it hard to modify the OBX header with the stock Y-pipe or simply a bolt on swap?

I'm sure I get a little less performance, but not by much. I really was concerned with the car being too loud. As for the headers, it was a clean swap. No modifying the stock y-pipe at all.

Regarding the how the car sounds with the headers, I get a lot (madd) complements on how my car sounds... finally...and not just from Lexus owners. It's not too loud for me at all, remember, I have a Carson Tune exhaust from the cats back. It sounds rugged at WOT.

Oh, almost forgot. Yes, I deinitely feel the difference in performance. I just have to keep remembering to reset my ecu.

Update, LMS extended the Y pipe for me and installed it the other day.

All i can say is... it's a must have. Freed up some backpressure. My car accelerates alot smoother and quicker. But still a bit restrictive due to my stock center pipe and stock exhaust.

Exhaust noise is still the same as before.
The Y pipe installation elimated the last CAT.
No More hesitation while coming to 1st psi of boost (had a problem with my stock y pipe which i guess was a clogged cat)

I'm pretty happy that they extended it for me
